Changes in 2025 to program objectives, process

By The Ian Potter Foundation

3 stacks blocks with the words: continous, process, improvement stamped on them
In 2025, there are changes to the Funding Objectives in Community Wellbeing and Early Childhood Development programs.
We are also making some changes to the Expression of Interest (EOI)/application process.

Funding Objectives in 2025

In 2025, the Community Wellbeing and Early Childhood Development programs have a specific focus

  • Community Wellbeing will focus exclusively on projects and organisations operating and/or delivering activities in rural and remote areas of Australia.
  •  Early Childhood Development will focus on initiatives that empower parents and caregivers to better access the resources and education required to support children.

Grantseekers planning to submit EOIs for either of these programs are advised to check their projects meet the revised funding guidelines in effect for 2025.

Changes to the application process

In 2025, we are also making some changes to the application process. These changes aim to simplify and streamline the process for grantseekers and remove bottlenecks.

The new process is outlined below and described in more detail on each program area page.

Universities/Research Institutes

There are additional steps to submitting EOIs/Applications for universities or research institutes. Applicants must contact their advancement/research office before submitting an EOI/application.

All other grantseekers

  1. Attend the Program Area Information Session held prior to the relevant funding round.
  2. Submit an Expression of Interest (Stage 1) via the link at the bottom of the relevant program area page when the area opens for EOI submissions (see Funding Round dates). The link will take you to the login page of our grant management system.

All submitted EOIs will be reviewed.

We will notify you:

  • If your proposal does not meet the Foundation's priorities and will not proceed to full application.

OR

  • If your proposal does meet the criteria and current priorities, and the program manager wishes to contact you or requires further information.

If you are asked to submit further information, you can re-access the grant management system by clicking the Login link in our website's header or footer.

THEN

  • If your Expression of Interest is approved, you will be invited to submit a Full Application (Stage 2).

Full Application (Stage 2)
  •  Full applications are completed online via the grant management system. You will be sent a link to access the online form. Please note that a sample application form is available on the program area page to help you prepare information.
  • The full application, including all supporting documents, must be submitted by 5:00 pm AEST on the closing date (see Funding Rounds).
  • You will be notified of the outcome of your Full Application by email when grants are announced (see Grants Announced timing under Funding Rounds).

Please be aware:

  •  funding rounds are a competitive process and your EOI application may not progress through all stages.
  • due to the large volume of EOIs the Foundation receives, we are unable to provide feedback on individual proposals.
